On February 25th, 2019, Hillel successfully completed the 4-mile swim from Robben Island to Big Bay in 57 degree water temperature and in a time of 3 hours and 7 minutes.
Cold water, shark scares, chafing and sunburn didn’t stop him.

He wrote extensively about his experience and journey to achieve this goal in his Blog. Please read about it: http://freedomswim.com/the-morning-of-monday-february-25th/

He had three reasons for attempting this challenge. He was…
- Inspired by the idea of Freedom and Nelson Mandela
- Interested in the challenge and improving his personal health
- Dedicated to finding a cure for psoriatic disease and raising funds for the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF).
RemedyHealth Media produced a video and story about Hillel’s experience. Please see: http://immersive.healthcentral.com/skin-care/d/LBLN/psoriasis-gamechangers-hillel-katzeff/
He has raised just over $4,000 and is short of his goal of $5,000. You can still acknowledge his successful swim and put him over the top by donating to the NPF, please click here for his: Personal NPF Donation Page. Thank you!
